Silver and White Abstract Semaphore

This one was impossible to photograph. Metallic grey/silver and white abstract pattern, reminds me of semaphore flags or burgees (the flags they fly from yachts). Framed in stripes of white and silver.

24" X 24" silver and white abstract pattern. Rolled white hem. Silk, signed in white, no ladybug.

Daisies and Abstractions

Really purdy butterscotch and hot pink with white and pink daisies scarf. Little freckles all over, a very cool pink L shaped abstract shape. Daisies are the most joyful of flowers and make me miss my mom.

poppies

Table runner, tea towel or napkin? Who knows for sure. Happy Happy Springtime design.

Signed in green, yellow ladybug. White cotton, 12 " X 36". Yellow and orange and green poppy print.

More butterflies

A lovely tapestry or table runner or wall hanging? Butterflies and flowers in blue, green, black line drawings and white accents. Has seen better days, but I love it.

Calling a Tree a Spade

Is it a Spade or a Tree? Perhaps I will never know. Another imperfect piece of silk perfection. Gorgeous, bold blocks of Blues and Greens with white and black line work. Edged in stripes. So terribly modern! Too big for me to wear, but in theory I would.

36" X 36" Green/Blue/White/Black color blocks with black line detail. Signed in black, no ladybug. Silk with a rolled light blue hem.

Poor Thing/Happy Daisies

I have to rescue the poor ripped Veras where I find them. I don't remember where I got this big, bold silky beauty. Hotter than hot pink, orange back ground with white/blue and orange daisies. Makes me very happy to look at, and hope that I have a duplicate in the large suitcases o Vera I have waiting for my iron and camera. Super 60s!

Sheer Pucci rip off

Ah, everyone was doing the pseudo psychedelia in the late 60s, early 70s, and dear Vera was not immune. Fantastic sheer with 2 blues swirly pattern. Would look fantastic around one's neck with sunglasses riding shot gun in your best friend's convertible. I wish my best friend had a convertible, or I did, along with good vision and a license! Alas. But I do have this Vera.

Fancy napkin

The colors and design on this are divine. This is another single napkin, and the poor thing is stained all over in coffee (but washed), however, it is still a beautiful example of a simple yet elegant Vera napkin. A set of these on a table set with blue and green hydrangeas in a black vase: perfection! I adore the black line drawings of pottery and the sea blue color of the linen.

Log Cabin Design

Sometimes I come across a Vera (or even some other vintage item) and I have to wonder who created it in the first place and thought: "WOW! This is Fab-U-lous! I am genius!", and then it was produced and someone bought it thinking: "This is made of awesome!" And they were both wrong. This reminds me of a log cabin quilt design sort of. The colors are a murky mess to me, I just do not respond, but completion, completion kept me ironing it.

Tron and Flowers

Another single napkin- I guess people lose or ruin the other ones, or someone else buys them before I can. Anyway, big grey and pink flowers with tan stem/leaves and a charcoal grid. This looks very modern to me. Sorry I didn't iron it. I don't have patience to iron right now, which is why the posts have been slow. There aint no cure for laziness.

More patriotic Vera!

I do really dig this abstract sunburst patter of blue and tomato soup red on white silk.
I wouldn't wear it, but I could see it as a scarf-top with a pr of faded up to the sky jean shorts. Sexy!

24"-24" White silk with abstract pattern in red and blue. Signed in white, no ladybug.

Morning Glories

This would have been the kind of napkin my mother would use for a special breakfast when I was growing up. If you were going to your first day of school, or you were in the school play, debuting that night, etc., she would make your place at the breakfast table special with 3rd best company china (really!), silver PLATED silverware, nice glasses and a cloth napkin. She would have chosen this one because they were "her" colors back then and had morning glories, thus, morning. My mom really taught me a lot, even if I did not realize it. Thanks, Phyllis!

Pity many Vera napkins are stained. They are still fantastic.
